TBA understands member concerns about the legal, legislative and regulatory issues that play such a significant part in every bank's operations. The TBA Legal Department addresses those concerns in the following ways:

We oversee all legal matters for TBA, including TBA's government relations; TBA's political action committee, TBA BankPac; TBA's Legal Hotline; amicus curiae briefs; litigation on behalf of Texas banks; and numerous legal publications. We represent the interests of all Texas banks at the state and federal levels by monitoring legislative and regulatory bodies for actions that affect banking. We also serve as a banking information resource for legislators, congressional members and their staffs. We oversee TBA BankPac, the political action committee that represents the banking industry's interests and supports candidates for political office who share and support the views of Texas bankers. Our attorneys serve as a legal resource for member banks on legal, legislative, and regulatory matters via TBA's Legal Hotline. We also serve as the primary resource for TBA's Government Relations Council, the TBA Board of Directors and TBA's hired lobby team. The TBA legal team represents TBA and all of its subsidiary and affiliated companies in various legal matters.
