Groundbreaking kicks off all-new TBA headquarters

The Texas Bankers Association held a groundbreaking ceremony on July 20 to celebrate the start of construction on its new headquarters in downtown Austin.

“The groundbreaking ceremony marks an exciting milestone in the 135-year history of the Texas Bankers Association. Banks of every size play an indispensable role in our economy and our new headquarters is a statement about our industry’s strength, optimism for the future and commitment to the communities that Texas banks serve,” said TBA President and CEO Chris Furlow. “The new building will be a major asset for our TBA member services and advocacy efforts and a first-class facility for our partners and tenants.”

The all-new nine-story office tower will feature nearly 100,000 square feet of leasable space with an unobstructed view of the Texas Capitol building in perpetuity. The building will include dedicated office space for TBA’s use, three full floors of additional office space, 9,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space, three and a half floors of above-ground parking and a ninth-floor event space and landscaped rooftop terrace. The new headquarters is slated for occupancy beginning in the fourth quarter of 2022.
