IBC's Nixon celebrates 45th anniversary

Dennis NixonIBC Bank Chairman and CEO Dennis E. Nixon recently marked his 45th anniversary at the bank’s company-wide, virtual anniversary celebration and bonus presentation where he was presented with his 45-year anniversary pin.

Since joining IBC in 1975, Nixon has been instrumental in cultivating a career culture for IBC Bank leaders, employees and customers. His “We Do More” attitude has led to the bank’s outstanding growth and high performance, setting it apart from other institutions — even during a tumultuous 2020.

“There are hundreds of families doing business with us today who can trace their IBC roots back two or three generations,” Nixon stated. “I know men and women who came to IBC Bank 30, 40 even 50 years ago for help when they wanted to start or grow a business. As these dreams and businesses grew, they continued to bring their children to the bank and taught them the importance of managing money.

“Today, these children are bringing their children to our bank. It is our commitment to serving as a trusted, accessible and reliable resource for our customers that allows us to create relationships capable of spanning generations.”

As Nixon reflects on 45 years with IBC Bank, he reaffirms his dedication to the organization and to the long-term importance of investing in company leaders and employees.

“Through the mentorship I received early on, I learned it takes hard work and commitment to make a business grow,” said Nixon. “It is every leader’s responsibility to give back. Take time to mentor and coach promising individuals to mold future leaders and to grow and learn together.”

Nixon’s commitment to the community and helping small businesses grow is evident in his approach to business and service, which led him to help create and start advocacy organizations like the Association of South Texas Communities, Texas Border Coalition, Border Trade Alliance and the Alliance for Security and Trade, to name a few.

In addition to Nixon, more than 250 employees received anniversary pins at the annual ceremony, which included many recipients celebrating 30, 35, 40 or 45 years.
