Citizens 1st Bank celebrates 100 years

Citizens 1st BankCitizens 1st Bank, Tyler celebrated 100 years of banking on Dec. 8. The bank, which was chartered on April 6, 1920, has locations in Tyler, Rusk, Jacksonville and Nacogdoches.

The bank has the distinction of being the only A+ rated bank (Weiss Ratings) in Texas and is one of 12 banks in the U.S. to have this excellent financial security rating. Other distinctions include its employees, who average approximately 20 years in tenure, and an efficiency ratio in the top 1% of banks in America, along with a risk-based capital ratio of nearly 50%.

“In these tumultuous times, we pledge to our customers and friends to operate as safely and successfully as we have for the last 100 years,” said President James Perkins.
