Commissioner appoints new Director of IT Security Examinations

Texas Banking Commissioner Charles G. Cooper announced in February the appointment of Ruth Price Norris as the Director of Information Technology Security Examinations.

In this position, Norris will be responsible for the IT supervisory activities for state-chartered banks, trust companies, licensed money service businesses and technology service providers that operate in Texas. She is replacing Phillip Hinkle who will be moving into the role of Director of Cybersecurity and Technology Strategy.

Norris graduated from Sam Houston State University in December 2005 and joined the Texas Department of Banking in February 2006.
