CFPB Issues Interpretive Rule on 2021 Juneteenth Holiday

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has issued an interpretive rule to help banks and other players in the mortgage industry determine how to handle June 19, 2021, as a federal holiday or a business day for purposes of compliance with certain time-sensitive borrower protections.

The new federal holiday legislation was passed just before June 19, giving regulators little time to react and provide guidance to banks and other institutions.
