How do I get to and from the airport?
If you are flying into Dallas Love Field Airport, it is 15 minutes from the hotel and cab fare should be around $15-$20.
If you are flying into to D/FW Airport, it is about 25 minutes from the hotel and cab/shuttle fare should be around $20-$25.
When is registration?
Registration is on Sunday, July 15, from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. You will receive your materials, name badge, dining card, and parking permit (if requested).
When can I check into the hotel?
You may check-in at 3:00 p.m. A confirmation number will be sent to you before the event.
Is there transportation to class?
Yes, there is a shuttle every morning and afternoon to/from the hotel and SMU and to class dinners.
Can I drive myself or where do I park if I live in the area?
Yes, you may park in the Binkley Parking lot on the corner of Ownby Drive and Binkley. Please do not park in staff, handicapped or fire lane areas. If you need a parking permit through the duration of the school, please e-mail
or call (512) 472-7391 no later than July 1. Parking permits will be issued to you during Registration on Sunday.
When are classes?
Classes are mandatory and are conducted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (excluding Friday).
Is there an exam?
Yes, there is an exam on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
May I use materials during the exam?
No, the exam is "closed book."
Which meals are included in my registration?
Breakfast will be available at the hotel every morning. Lunch will be served each day in the SMU cafeteria. There are also class dinners on Sunday and Wednesday evenings (transportation provided).
What is the attire?
Casual attire (including shorts and tennis shoes) is appropriate for all class sessions and events. Keep in mind that the classroom is always very cold (the temperature is set and cannot be adjusted), so come prepared with a sweater, sweatshirt or light jacket. Comfortable walking shoes are also very important. Please bring an umbrella as Dallas weather is unpredictable.
