Financial sector members are attractive defendants for patent infringement actions, which sometimes arise from use of vendor-provided goods and services. The cost of defense of such claims is high, often meriting a quick resolution. Contractual provisions, particularly IP indemnification, may be highly desirable to shift some of the cost.
