About the Texas Bankers Foundation

The Texas Bankers Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Texas Bankers Association, serves and supports Texas banks, their employees and communities through various programs:

  • Financial literacy: The Foundation promotes and encourages banks and bankers to provide financial education throughout the state of Texas.
  • The Cornerstone and LiFE (Leaders in Financial Education) Awards recognize Texas banks and bankers that enhance their communities through service projects and financial literacy programs.
  • 50-Year Banker Awards: Bankers who have devoted 50 years or more to the banking industry are eligible for this special recognition.
  • Scholarships: The Foundation encourages excellence in banking by providing scholarships to graduate schools of banking at premier universities throughout the nation. The Foundation also offers the Future Banker Scholarship at Sam Houston State University and Texas A&M University.
  • Educating Future Texas Bankers: To promote the future of banking, a donation match program has been established to benefit the banking programs at Sam Houston State University and Texas A&M University. The Texas Bankers Foundation will match up to $250,000 in donations to each program.
  • Robbery Rewards: The Foundation protects Texas banks and their employees by discouraging robberies through the Robbery Rewards program.
  • Giving Back: The Texas Bankers Foundation has coordinated the collection and distribution of donations to help Texas communities in times of disaster. Relief Funds were setup and distributed during the wildfires in 2011, the West fertilizer plant explosion in 2013 and Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
