Banking Safely

#BanksNeverAskThat

An ad from TBA and Texas Department of Banking reminding about the dangers of jugging

Jugging

“Jugging” refers to a type of fraudulent activity that poses a significant risk to the public. Perpetrators typically observe individuals withdrawing large sums of cash, then follow these individuals to another location, such as a parking lot or their home, where they rob them of the cash. This crime often involves careful planning and surveillance by criminals who target unsuspecting individuals.

To combat jugging, banks employ various security measures, including enhanced surveillance systems, employee training on identifying suspicious behavior, and collaboration with law enforcement agencies. Additionally, educating customers about the risks can help mitigate the threat of jugging.

To that end, TBA offer these materials to be shared with bank staff and customers.
