Treasury Department requests public comment on AI in financial services

The Treasury Department is requesting public comment on the use of artificial intelligence in financial services. The Department issued a request for information (RFI) on the uses, opportunities and risks presented by AI in the financial sector.


The RFI states: “Treasury welcomes input on any matter that commenters believe is relevant to Treasury’s efforts to understand the uses, opportunities, and risks of AI in financial services. Treasury is interested in gathering information from a broad set of stakeholders in the financial services ecosystem, including those providing, facilitating, and receiving financial products and services, as well as consumer and small business advocates, academics, nonprofits, and others interested in providing information to Treasury on potential opportunities and risks related to the use of AI in financial services.”
