Texas legislators cosponsor farmer assistance bill
There are 17 Texans in the U.S. House of Representatives who are standing up for farmers in their districts and across the country by cosponsoring the Farmer Assistance and Revenue Mitigation (FARM) Act.
The bill, known as H.R. 10045, led by Rep. Trent Kelly (R-MS), provides assistance to farmers when their revenue falls below the cost of production due to circumstances beyond their control, such as natural disasters, inflation pressures, and drought. The legislation will help farmers pay down debt relative to the 2024 crop to obtain financing for the 2025 crop year.
House Agriculture Committee members Monica De La Cruz (R-TX), Ronny Jackson (R-TX) and Pete Sessions (R-TX) are keenly aware of the importance of this legislation. Other Texas co-sponsors of the FARM Act are: Babin, Carter, Cuellar, Ellzey, Fallon, Gonzales, Gonzalez, Gooden, McCaul, Moran, Nehls, Pfluger, Veasy and Weber. See more on the bill here.
