When disaster strikes, Texas bankers respond
Unforeseen events and natural disasters can change a community in a matter of minutes. Homes and businesses are damaged, families are displaced and communities face the difficult work of rebuilding.
The Texas Bankers Foundation Disaster Relief Fund gives the Texas banking community a way to come together and help when our neighbors need it most. Through the generosity of Texas banks, bankers, industry partners and friends, the Foundation has provided assistance following devastating events across our state, including hurricanes and tropical storms, tornadoes, wildfires, floods and other disaster events.
Helping communities recover
Over the years, donations to the fund have helped respond to major disasters affecting Texas communities, including:
- Hurricanes and severe coastal storms
- Catastrophic flooding
- Tornadoes and severe weather
- Wildfires and drought-related disasters
- Other emergencies that have affected Texas communities and banking families
Most recently, the Foundation activated the fund following the devasting flooding across Texas and the wildfires in North Texas, helping support recovery efforts in some of the hardest-hit communities.
