Texas Bankers Association's 2026 D.C. University
The ABA’s Washington Summit is held each spring in Washington, D.C. and provides bankers from across the country the opportunity to hear important legislative and regulatory updates from thought leaders and policymakers on Capitol Hill. TBA always has one of the largest delegations at the Summit because Texas bankers understand the importance of staying in touch with folks inside D.C.’s Beltway.

In 2026, TBA is billing our Texas-specific events at the Washington Summit as “D.C. University: Texas Roots, Beltway Boots”, and we’re targeting the next generation of bank leadership for participation. Our focus at this year’s event will be making visiting Capitol Hill approachable for those who have never been. We’ll focus on the basics of advocacy and walk participants through preparing for and attending visits with legislators and their staffs. D.C. University will be a perfect opportunity for emerging bankers to understand the important issues impacting our industry and communities. Young bankers and Washington newbies should plan to join us in our nation’s capital to learn about the inner workings of federal law and regulation and bring home a wealth of knowledge to share with their leadership and colleagues.
TBA will host a number of Texas specific events throughout ABA’s Summit, including a rooftop Welcome Reception on Sunday, March 8th, a dinner on Monday, March 9th, and a closing recaption on Tuesday, March 10th . Stipends are available for first-time participants. Questions about the ABA Washington Summit?
