PSA: Commissioner Cooper and Chris Furlow offer holiday cybersecurity warning
Texas Banking Commissioner Charles G. Cooper and Texas Bankers Association’s CEO and president Chris Furlow are reminding consumers to stay vigilant this holiday season, as cybercriminal activity typically spikes during this time of year.
Fraudsters often use the busy holiday period to exploit consumers through scams designed to steal personal and financial information. In response, the Texas Bankers Association, in partnership with the American Bankers Association, is amplifying its #BanksNeverAskThat educational campaign. This initiative equips consumers with the knowledge to recognize phishing attempts and other common red flags of fraud.
